A FIELD GUIDE TO WESTERN BIRDS by Roger Tory Peterson

A FIELD GUIDE TO WESTERN BIRDS

Constant use of the companion volume on eastern birds makes me feel very sure that this volume will prove equally essential to westerners. The dividing line comes about at the Rockies, though a list of eastern ""strays"" and the inclusion of birds that migrate consistently will help bridge the two books. Photographs of birds grouped in general classifications, corresponding descriptions, with additional birds clearly described, and a clear system of indexing all combine to make this an excellent handbook.
