DRAWING PEOPLE FOR FUN

A good hobby book for that growing number of amateurs who get fun out of sketching, with no aspirations towards hanging masterpieces in art galleries. This book has two values -- first it inspires the interested reader in a conviction that it is possible to go and do likewise; second it is a how to do it book, liberally illustrated with suggestive line drawings illustrating the points. The author advocates serious study of the human body, the mechanics of action, etc. but shows how this can be self-taught, or worked out in groups. Good suggestions for practice and studies. A book for the amateur -- for self-teaching -- but also for art school libraries, public libraries, etc.
