KIRKUS REVIEW

This is specialized in its appeal but under this heading can come (1) everyone to whom New England and particularly the Sound means ships and steamboating. (2) all who are interested in a record of American coastwise shipping. (3) all who like boats and the stories of the men who captained them. From the days of the first steamboats on the Sound, back in 1815, to today, the boats, the captains, anecdotes of rivalry, adventure of sorts.
