ETCHINGS

Mr. Connett has written the foreword for this comprehensive collection of Roland Clark's exquisite etchings. Many artists are good draftsmen, many clever artists, but here is a man who says himself he never knew whether to grab his pencil or his gun when birds came over. Equally at home with both the results are what you would expect from a man who knows every movement of their flight, every species, every feather marking, its texture and quality. Benson is the only etcher who is ever compared with him and many prefer Clark. The de luxe edition of 50 copies bound in three-quarter levant, gold-tooled, with two original signed etchings at $125.00 a copy is completely sold out. If you have missed it and have a disappointed customer willing to pay a premium try advertising in the P. W. and some shop may release one to you. I managed to pry a copy of the De Luxe Gunners Dawn loose that way. The regular edition of 800 copies is to be stunningly bound in burgundy linen with natural hand loom back and corners, with one original signed etching and will be $35.00. Remember how quickly Bishop's Birds (Lippincott) was sold out and don't be caught napping on this. Sportsmen, artists, etching collectors and ornithologists form a wide market. Take orders at once or you'll miss it.
