KIRKUS REVIEW

A review of the life of the phonograph carries it from tin foil to hi-fi and embellishes the history of an invention with choice facts. The creation of the machine is related to business beginnings and the ups and downs of varied contributions from Edison's day. On through the competition of Victor and Columbia, the later LPs, etc., this is a well written, three pronged history.
