NEW POEMS BY AMERICAN POETS #2

This is the second volume of 200 poems by American poets to be edited by Rolfe Humphries and it is a definitely interesting collection, with a few, well known writers and many prize-winning poets and a number of newcomers. Mr. Humphries' illuminating introduction points out that the obscure and the minatory in modern poetry are disappearing. He notes a considerable return to form. The spirit of contemporary poetry is non-committal, not very reckless, just a bit chill as readers of this collection will see.
