Beginning with dinosaurs to illustrate the concept that ""the water you drink today has been on earth millions and millions of years"" and ""has been used over and over again,"" Roma Gans then runs through a simple cycle (exaporation-clouds-rain-etc.) and concludes that ""we must learn how to use water without polluting it."" Like the author's books on birds, this gets across more basic concepts (the fixed supply of water, the processes that make for rain or salt water or dirty water) than the brief, easy text would indicate. In keeping with the subject Cuffari's blue and green pictures are clear and refreshing.
