HUMMINGBIRDS IN THE GARDEN

The chief attraction of Hummingbirds in the Garden is that it tells how you can attract them to yours -- by rigging up a red-rimmed bottle on a branch and filling it with nectar (recipe given). Otherwise there's less info than in others of the series though enough -- especially about the hummingbirds' aerial acrobatics and feeding habits -- to make the child want to see for himself. Or go on to McClung's somewhat fuller Ruby Throat.
