GROWING UP WITH THE BEATLES

Amidst the unquenchable rumors of a Beatles reunion comes this me-and-the-Beatles remembrance of adolescence forever linked to ""Yesterday"" and ""Yellow Submarine."" This ""tribute"" is corny as all get out, but it does contain 296 photographs of the ""Fab Four."" Living in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Schaumburg was uncontaminated by ""the hippies and their outlandish ways,"" but the Beatles' wardrobes and hairstyles eventually got to him. ""I was repelled"" by Rubber Soul when it first came out--but he soon succumbed. And Sgt. Pepper ""changed my life"" providing inspiration, solace, and euphoria. He comes on very much the all-American kid, and he remembers it all: the scandal when John said, ""We are more popular than Jesus now""; the PAUL-IS-DEAD scare; George and the Maharishi. The music made him feel good eight days a week--and still does. For all those other Beatlemaniacs who haven't given up.
