This continues Dr. Dooley's story, from the time when The Edge of Tomorrow was written and $500,000 in cash and a million dollars in drugs was raised to enable Dr. Dooley to bring his Medico team back to the little village where Laos, China and Burma meet. There the clinic, which was based on Dr. Schweitzer's philosophy and the premise that Asians must be helped to help Asians, continued its fight against the diseases of filth, ignorance and privation. In the year to come, there was of course the increasing pressure of the threat of Communist aggression-as well as Communist propaganda. And the year ends with the telegram which summoned him home to Memorial Hospital for the operation on the malignant melanoma which he has not permitted to interfere with the continuation of his work- back in Laos.... Dr. Dooley's story, exceptional in both determination and dedication, has had tremendous coverage in the press and popular media- and it is to be presumed that it will not diminish the interest in this continuation of his story. He has a wide following.
