SONG FOR PAMELA by Rose A. Livant

... which Pamela wishes were a musical comedy hit number, but which her parents and grandmother turn into a church hymn when they ship her off to Chisholm Choir College in New Jersey. A dauntless rebel for almost a year, Pamela accepts a job off campus in a hot spot, thus breaking the rules of stately Chisholm. But Pamela-- the only realistic character in the book-- at last relents to the serene rah-rahs and smiles which surround her, and she leaves in June, anxious to return to Chisholm in September. In the contrasting forms of two young men-- Coug of Pam's former, more zany life, and Mark of her new serious one, there is enough romance and conflict for P. and a sigh-ridden audience.
