AMAZING AMAZON

The Cooks tour, light-heartedly and high-spiritedly, up the Amazon. Previous knowledge of the country gives them an auspicious start, and they find plenty to report in oddities, incidents, fellow passengers, places, markets, natives. There are various visits, there are Bob's scenarios, there are nooks of river travel, boat captains, foods, comforts and discomforts, big towns and little; there are bits from diaries and much personal comment. Unhackneyed, amusing travel talk for stay-at-homes.
