PEGGY PLANTS A TREE by Rose Flynn Kirkus Star

PEGGY PLANTS A TREE

By

Publisher: Scribner

Almost any adult sharing this book with a young daughter will learn a good deal about everyday trees, in this story of how city-bred Peggy found new adventure in the country in getting acquainted with her tree neighbors. And of how she was responsible for launching the idea of a community park made out of a vacant lot, and planted with trees selected by the children of the country school. At the end of the book are several pages of line drawings of leaves, under elementary classifications, which will help establish at least that basis of recognition. The text of the story includes a good many other facts about bark, structure, habits -- the things that help one recognize trees in Winter. Good book for school project, for Browine Scouts, etc, etc.
