KIRKUS REVIEW

A little magic, a little moral and a happy ending make this book, with its pleasant pictures by Barbara Latham a good Christmas item. It is the story of the best and fattest baker in Colonial Albany who always gave thirteen cookies to the baker's dozen except on a fateful occasion. A good read-aloud story for the family.
