A young Bette Davis at her waspish worst could handle the character of Betty Graham, a nasty piece indeed. Betty was formerly Liz Melinder until a train wreck allowed her to abandon husband, child, mediocre marriage and escape to richer pastures as Mrs. Tom Graham.
