KIRKUS REVIEW

This fairy tale would go better read aloud for the story is appealing enough, but the vocabulary rather adult. Story of a dwarf who had nobody to talk to and who never smiled, and of how his jolly dumb servant found him a baby in a storm. The colored illustrations are beautifully reproduced and have a Rackhamish quality.
