LOVE AMONG THE OPERATORS

Hardly another Roman Spring. . . oh Mrs. Stone where are you? Dead from sheer boredom no doubt if you had to associate with these Operators. Who consist of the giddy middle-aged narrator blithely in love with her ""Beetle,"" lamenting her mother's death (guilt) and indulging throughout in what the author obviously believes is the height of witty nonsense. With her friend Caroline, married to a big baby businessman, and Sir Rupert who they hope is having an affair with ""La Prostitutess,"" a woman of the world who teaches them how to handle a man. It all takes place on holiday in Italy and rarely has the Cinzano seemed more tasteless.
