I know an old lady who swallowed a fly"", and then a score of other animals all in hot pursuit of the preceding one. The poem is familiar. The pyramid building humor has a curious excitement for young children, perhaps in the increasing pile-up of ridiculous images, perhaps in the challenge to memory. In any case, they are sure to be tickled by this old lady's catastrophes.
