LOST PONY TRACKS

Again a reminiscence of the open range which returns to the '20's, and the Arizona territory for an unglamorized, unsentimentalized picture of the waddie and a life close to the saddle. Roping and branding and the constant chore of fixing fence; shoeing a horse and driving a herd; the outfit's rough string of pitching ponies, and the range's wild horses; chuck and gear; dances, and kicking the lid off in town; and the long, tall tales about horses- horses- and sometimes cows, all this is a friendly tribute- mellowed rather than spirited. But there's an easy lope to most of it.
