THE AMERICAN HEALTH SCANDAL

This is a critical look at the present status of health care in the U.S. and is particularly valuable for its international comparisons--the A.M.A. gets roasted, as do the inadequacies of Blue Cross, Blue Shield and Medicare. There is a glowing report on the health service in England, which is not always supported by more than the author's personal observations. However, the overall criticisms and the remedial propositions seem sound and the book is a handy source of information on a favorite issue for debating societies.
