Munro Leaf has stream-lined and popularized moral tales for children, and in that tradition here is a story -- the moral not over-emphasized -- about the greedy little boy who took (yes, even in rationed times) four and five and six helpings and grew fatter and fatter until he was as big as the biggest balloon and simply floated away and was never seen again. Surprise ending in what she doesn't say instead of what she does; I'm all for that instead of a reform. Pictures on every page, clean cut, simple, gay flat color and line, and a clear type caption running story.
