Munro (The Inside-Outside Book of New York City, etc.) turns her attention, her pen, and her paintbrush to the subject of blimps--and imparts a good deal of information: What are blimps made of?. Where are they inflated? How fast and high can they go? What's it like to ride in one? How do they land? What are they used for? Her illustrations are likewise informative: clear, appropriately detailed and wonderfully atmospheric. Munro, who seems genuinely fond of blimps, conveys her affection to readers as well. It is pleasing to see an author-artist who has distinguished herself in one arena turn so competently to another.
