IT'S GOOD TO BE ALIVE

Told for the most part in his own words, this is a moving account of a great baseball star, his childhood, his career, his paralyzing accident and his gradual return to the game in a coaching capacity. Both for the fans and for those who will inevitably be intrigued by Roy Campanella's uniquely courageous defiance of disaster, this is a memorable and unpretentious account.
