KIRKUS REVIEW

There's violence in the Jacksons' summer at the beach cottage in the bush and Mary, Michael, John and Billy have their fill of danger and excitement. There is fishing, a cattle dip, a python and his kill, a storm and a wreck and an escaped convict to occupy their time and when a policeman disappears there is a hunt that catches the murderer and heads them into killing the great mamba whose presence has been a constant threat. An enormous amount of African living and wild life background this very active vacation, while strange animals and customs fill it with unusual material but it is definitely more bloodthirsty and terrifying than American holidays seem to be.
