AN EXPLORER COMES HOME

By

Pub Date: Sept. 18th, 1947
Publisher: Doubleday

The explorer exploring at home, as Andrews and his wife Billie make their home at Pondwood, in Northwest Connecticut. This is an account of his discoveries on his new property, the establishing of a year round home, the many householding excitements and incidents that made the years a continual surprise. There's fishing, hunting, dogs and cats, moving pictures, there's scientific excavating on their own land, and investigation of local history, there's the joy in getting acquainted with the country, and the contrast to flying trips to the city. The former director of the American Museum of Natural History gives a happy picture of his personal life and doings.
