Small gardens are in vogue again- and miniature bulbs are one important answer to the problem of space used to best advantage. While British in substance, this is an exceedingly valuable book on a generally neglected subject. Mr. Ganders, whose earlier books on miniatures have been excellent, has done his best job here. Fortified by good lists of species and varieties, he goes into What-Where- How and When to grow the tantalizing variety of small bulbs that help provide color through much of the year, indoors as well as out. For naturalizing, for shrubbery, for rock gardens, for borders, there is always the right bulb. A practical handbook as well as one that provides good reading for any gardener.
