THE FUTURE IS UPON US

We often wonder about the complacent ignorance with which some men establish their homes on the side of a rumbling volcano, but how about the millions of Christians who dare to live in our shuddering world as though no danger threatened us? To each of these Roy L. Smith issues a challenge. ""Four issues confront every Christian-population explosion, scientific breakthrough, high hopes of the have-nots, and the ideological conflict of Communism and Christianity."" Answer these or else! The author defines the issues, and makes clear the urgency. He makes no attempt at giving pat answers. But his challenge portrays the years of research that went into this writing, and his long standing reputation as a writer and editor. Bishop Gerald H. Kennedy, in writing an introduction for his fellow Methodist, said, ""This book will be a guide for Christians who want to understand their time."" Dr. Smith has added helpful book lists, and searching, particular questions at the end of the various chapters. This volume would make an excellent common reading for a Bible Class, youth group or adult study group in any Church, but it is also meant for every Christian, and will be helpful most of all to those who have enough faith to realize that the Church has important partial or complete answers to the questions troubling our world.
