The disappearance of a prominent Cape Cod lawyer's daughter, Judy, ties in ot only with a murder, but also illegitimacy, intimidation, extortion and some assorted adultery on the part of her presumed mother. Scott Gregory of the State Police and others on the force handle a perhaps overloaded case, but the police work is careful and sturdy. Perhaps a replacement for the late Ben Benson.
