HOW THE CAMEL, GOT HIS HUMP; THE ELEPHANT'S CHILD; HOW THE LEOPARD GOT HIS SPOTS; HOW THE RHINOCEROS GOT HIS SKIN

F. ojankovsky has made gay, lush pictures for these inexpensive editions of four of the favorite stories from the Just So Stories. For old times sake, I found myself rereading the texts, and realized with some degree of surprise how much in common parlance are phrases and expressions from these childhood classics. This was particularly true of The Elephant's Child -- or is it perhaps because this (and The Cat that Walked by Itself not in this edition) were always my favorites. A good way to introduce a child of the read aloud age to Kipling.
