Straight human interest small storying, not too high level, but covering the experiences of a jack of all medical trades, a ship's doctor, who chose this field of practice because of the variety it afforded. Almost anything came his way, from the Argentinian Ambassador with leukemia to a group of mental deportees; from eminent personages like the Cordell Hulls and Mrs. Roosevelt to rough guys on the crew. Surgical emergencies, ship romances, seasickness and sunburn, veterinary sidelines, all parts of a minor career. Dr. Hooker is serving with the armed forces at present. We've had just about every other sort of doctor, so this rounds out the subject, but I can't see that this particular item is the definitive one in its field.
