CHINA COURT: The Hours of a Country House

This story weaves the rich tapestry of a place and a family, back and forth for five generations, until at the close the pattern is complete. Set in a strange medieval frame, the characters are numerous, though two stand out. Old Mrs. Quin, the unwanted wait to whom China Court was a dream world, and her granddaughter Tracy who returns from America to fill in the final piece of the pattern. A story that embraces much of England's social history.
