Another reliable rousing tale for boys, this time of Spain and Africa, the Barbery Coast of 1815, when Moorish pirates lured foreign ships and cargoes on to reefs, kept the ships and sold the men into slave markets. John Flint, 20, is sent to Spain by a Boston firm to investigate. With an English companion, he unearths the scandal, runs down some facts, is in and out of the villain's hands, and finally they make a gateway to Decatur's U. N. N. squadron, recover their ship and the crew and escape. Straight adventure, with period fillers. Good.
