Pub Date: Sept. 28th, 1965

To kill off an almost extinct tribe of rabbits in the Australia of the late 1990's, the government concocts a super poison called Supermyx. The stuff kills men but its effect on rabbits is to turn them into rabid killers. It becomes necessary for Fitzgerald, the Aussie Prime Minister, to A-bomb their burrows. This Job done, he is left with Supermyx, a weapon beyond compare, and he has it planted in electrodes around the world. Using the threat of activating these electrodes, and demonstrations, he blackmails the world's governments into total disarmament. But under the battlefield where the war-starved nations of the World may fight--for a rental fee--the petty wars they crave, the Bunnies of the Bomb are still breeding. Australians, usually remote from it all, will Undoubtedly love the attention this mixture of science-fiction and subtle political satire will bring them. The rest of the world should be grateful, too, for the sophisticated, comic treatment which Braddon has made of Down Under's age old problem of rabbits and the new worry of peace in a world of atoms. A readership too may proliferate.
