THEN AGE ANIMAL STORIES

A collection of short stories written by Russell Gordon Carter (most of this series consists of anthologies). The range of geographical interest is broad,- from pets in the city and country, to wild creatures from Alaska to the Belgian Congo, from South American jungles to Maine pastures. And the inclusion of variety of animals is equally great, dogs, cats, horses, elk, mountain sheep, cranes, a black leopard, a bear, a hippoppotamus, and outlaw pets. Good stories, without the sentimentality only too characteristic of most animal stories. Adventure chiefly, rather than nature stories. This Lantern Press series of short story collections sells much better than most.
