In this thriller, a military trial exposes a deep-seated network of political corruption.

In Fallujah, Iraq, a squad of U.S. Marines is on a mission to clear insurgents from the local houses and businesses. The troops are suddenly ambushed and hit by an IED, killing all of the team except the captain and two privates. Three innocent civilians die in the fray, too. The FUBAR prompts an investigation into the Marines’ actions and a subsequent trial to determine if they were following commands or executing a revenge-fueled plot. When military attorney Capt. Chuck Slidell subpoenas the reluctant Gen. Maxwell to appear at the court martial, it sparks a series of nasty repercussions that are only the beginning of the attorney’s problems, which will put his life and the lives of his loved ones in danger. While Slidell attempts to prove the innocence of the officers, he uncovers a network of corruption—blackmail, bribery, pedophilia—that stretches from the military all the way up to the president. The same network is determined to stop him, by any means necessary. When he receives a letter naming some of the corrupt members, Slidell realizes just how intricate and complex the network is, with high players in politics and the judiciary. Days later, the colleague who sent the accusatory missive is found dead in a motel room. It’s no coincidence. O Fiaich unapologetically exposes the shrapnel of war-torn Iraq, as he weaves the intricate, shocking display of political puppetry on both sides of the war, revealing its ugly effects on the lives of the innocent.

The cinematic, twisting plot superbly navigates a series of explosive events that lead this battle-ready political thriller to its gripping conclusion.
