MONEY, MONEY, MONEY

A slight introduction to the origin of money which capitalizes on the humorous aspects of barter (""My money doesn't feel too well"", says a boy looking at his sick cow), but never goes so far as to explain why money had to be issued by a king to become ""the first real money"" or why metal became the standard medium of exchange except that it is durable and portable. The collage silhouettes in shades of gray and tan are unobtrusively inviting, and their amusing dialog helps reinforce the idea that coconuts, whales' teeth and yap stones can be money too.
