OUR CAT FLOSSIE

Flossie is a real charmer in this series of paintings capturing the essence of cats. Not much happens; we are shown all her favorite pursuits--bird-watching, helping with the knitting, sitting in boxes--or doing some things she doesn't like as well--going to the vet or hiding from the sound of fireworks. Most of all, Flossie loves sleeping, and we are given several views of this activity. Flossie is a fluffly brown tabby with white on her face, and especially in a view of her sleeping, a great white expanse of tummy. Only one of the pictures shows Flossie from a distance with houses and people in view. Most are close-ups with delicate detail and marvelous patterning of the textiles or vegetation around her. Colors are lush and Flossie is very pattable.
