CHESSIE

Chessie was the mascot cat of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad, and this is the story of how Chessie came to the railroad and made herself part of it, starting with the kitchen, going to sleep in an upper berth, being exiled to the baggage car, then reinstated in the Pullman, and reaching supreme heights by eating from a plate in the dining car. Ruth Carroll has humor and realism in her drawings -- and the story is an appealing one.
