OLD MRS. BILLUPS AND THE BLACK CATS

Superstitious old Mrs. Billups believed in luck, in creating good luck by hoarding omens, avoiding bad luck by keeping a safe distance from black cats. This is the hilarious tale of how her simple trip to the supermarket is transformed into a riotus safari, from bushes on to red wagons and into trees-all because of harmless Smokie, the cat, and her little kittens who trail her. A mild excursion becomes a complicated odyssey to the dress shop, luggage shop, shoemaker's and milliner's, as we all become aware of the barrage of misfortunes Mrs. Billups encounters in her efforts to escape bad luck.
