ANIMAL FOLK SONGS FOR CHILDREN

A spicy, feet-stomping collection of folk songs selected by the author of American Folk Songs for Children and music editor for Our Singing Country and Folk Songs U.S.A. Geese, rabbit, little dogs, mules, hen, foxes and even a ground hog feature in these story songs, unfamiliar to most, which originate in the South and West, primarily. The tunes are simple and sprightly, and the piano accompaniment is easy to play. Children will love the yarn of the old sow who ""died with measles in the spring""; the ""Little Dog Named Right"", ""Old Stewball, the Horse"" (the stanzas punctuated with ""uh huh""s) and the wonderful ""Mister Rabbit"" song which has the refrain: ""Every little soul must shine, shine, shine"".
