Mike decides that today is the day for a big scientific expedition. Laden down with equipment--jars, bucket, magnifying glass, lunch pail, helmet, binoculars, spy glasses--he and his eager young sister, Sue, set off. Along the way they observe baby rabbits, insects, machinery, electric equipment, but nothing which could be considered a big scientific discovery. The two children are somewhat disappointed until Sue reflects that they have made a discovery; they have grasped the fact that science is universally manifest.
