THE BEAR ON THE BALCONY

A reliable bit of nonsense about a bear who came to spend the summer. Johnny was somewhat worried when Humphrey announced he had come to spend some time, but when the bear was firmly established on the balcony outside Johnny's playroom, Johnny rather liked the idea -- except when Humphrey became very bearish about not having his honey and cinnamon buns. This problem of supply made it necessary to tell his parents, and although they were also doubtful and very relieved to see Humphrey off to hibernation, they thought he was a nice bear and invited him to come again.
