SMUGGLERS OF SANDY BAY

Spunky Cindy Lowe is the central figure in a salty adventure yarn, set in Cape Anne, the Atlantic shore north of Boston, 1814. Outwitting the British blockade was a perilous undertaking for the families near Gloucester and Salem, but there was no other way to survive. The strange tunnel which Cindy discovered leading to the seashore from her home was a vital link in the supply line for her family and friends. Cindy's courage helped to reunite Henri, a French boy taken prisoner on the British ship Leander, and she rescued the coveted London Doll, a rarity, for all the children of Sandy Cove. A trip to Salem was just the reward she wanted for her valor. Cindy is a credible child and the regional background is convincing too.
