THE LEGACY OF SACCO AND VANZETTI

The collaborative work of a Professor at Harvard Law, and a Professor at the N.Y. School for Social Research, this is an intensive study of the impact of the Sacco-Vanzetti case on American law, literature and society. A tri-partite analysis:- the legacy to the law- doubt, through the facts of the case, the trials and evidence, the years of controversy; the legacy to the people- conflict, in prejudices aroused, in various agencies engaged in the defense, in national agitation; the legacy to literature-faith, in a survey of the literary output which this trial stimulated...A re-assessment, on many levels, of the greatest judicial question mark since the Dreyfus affair, this is important legally, sociologically -- but of limited interest for a general audience.
