The story of two children of a Baron who join the Children's Crusade, and after weeks of weary traveling, are forced to stay behind. Fortunately, they find friends of their father and are returned in safety to their home. There is no well-knit plot and one feel that the story is of secondary importance to the historical background. The first part dealing with the life in the castle on the Loire is far more interesting and convincing than the handling of the Crusade itself. Should be a useful picture of medieval life, for this age group.
