ON THE FRONTIER : A Play; GOODBYE TO BERLIN

The first a play in book form, by two of the young moderns. The second, a ""roughly continuous narrative"" composed of six diary fragments, dealing with pre-Nazi Berlin as seen by the author. Presumably a novel, it reads more like the notes collected by Isherwood for a novel. Uneven and for the greater part inferior to what Isherwood can do. Auden and Isherwood are collectors' items, however, though limited in appeal.
