CHARLES DARWIN

The author of Man, Time and Fossils was a good choice for this Great Life in Brief, and those who read the part concerned with Charles Darwin will particularly relish this expansion into a rounded biography, and an excellent one. The text is a reasonable balance between a personal portrait of the boy, the man, the scientist, the husband and father, and an analysis of the substance of those theories which revolutionized scientific thinking. Extremely readable.
