SHAKY ISLAND

A huge turtle embedded beneath a tiny island off the east coast of Australia caused the inhabitants to cling to their bark houses each time he moved. Tired of sweeping up spilled supper, of swinging from hilltop to valley, young Bibalong decides to have a word with old Mr. Turtle. A friendly underwater conversation inspires the turtle to move on to new waters and sends Bobalong ashore with news of calmer days ahead. Both text and illustrations are too placed to capture the imagination of this age group.
