KIRKUS REVIEW

In two English ships set out to capture, the gold-bearing Spanish galleons. The pilot was the famed Captain Dampier, a model for Swift's imaginary Gulliver. Told here in sparse but effective language, the three year trip was one of extreme hardship. What the men endured, where they visisted, and how they ended the voyage comprise well-researched and well old sea adventure.
