The having your cake- and eating it too school of weight reduction- differs from Martin Lederman's quantitative approach (The Slim Gourmet 1955-) in that here a ""new cooking technology"" is introduced and applied to the old dishes- whether muffins, waffles, pastry, or ice cream. These dishes are all-decalorized, and there are specific recommendations as well as recipes for non-fattening sauces, sugarless sweets, etc. through certain substitutions. Additional advice on available packaged foods, on special aids for your kitchen- and pantry, charts- with caloric values, complete what seems to be a sound (if not always as savory) way of undermining your overweight.
